I'm Gail and I'm delighted that you stopped by . . .
Welcome to Gail Fairfield Inks
In these galleries, you'll find photographic reproductions of my original alcohol ink paintings. Look around - click on the various tabs to discover images that will enhance your space and your life! The cool thing about this site is that, once you choose your images, you'll have lots of choices about how/whether to crop or frame them to make them work for you.
I paint with alcohol ink because I'm thoroughly bemused by its multiple effects. As you can see, it's fluid, like watercolors - but brighter. Sometimes the resulting images are representational, sometimes completely abstract, and sometimes a sort of impressionistic mix. On occasion, I merge photographs into my paintings* . . . if you have pets in your life, or you have loved ones with pets, be sure to look at the "Your Pet - My Art" tab for examples of customized artwork. Most of this site is set up for you to order photographic reproductions of my artwork. However, some of the originals are also available for purchase; check them out!
*Yes, I'm the Gail Fairfield who wrote and illustrated The MOSTLY True Stories of Roly Poly's Great Lake Adventures. Each of the seven stories in the book is illustrated with photographs of my real dog (Roly Poly) merged into my alcohol ink paintings - you can click links to buy it, in English or Spanish, through Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
